Q: What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend or a day off?

A: Spending time with my family playing outside or finding adventures and ending the day cozied up on the couch with a book!

Q: What is your favorite Barre move?

A: Arabesque! This move used to be very challenging for me and I used to dread it. But the more I did it, the more I fell in love with it.

Q: What motivates you on days you don’t feel like working out?

A: That after workout feeling! I love a workout that leaves you feeling energized, sweaty and a little sore.

Q: What is one thing you love about RYB?

A: The community! I have made so many friends at RYB and have always felt supported and encouraged by those in the studio, no matter what season of life I am in.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend or a day off?

A: My favorite thing to do on the weekend or a day off is to sleep late, catch up with my family and friends while enjoying some delicious food, and lastly, spending some time reading a book.

Q: What is your favorite Barre move?

A: My favorite Barre move for legs is pulsing in a plié. I love challenging myself to go as far down as I can go and feeling my legs shake.  I also love anything abs related!

Q: What motivates you on days you don’t feel like working out?

A: On days I don’t feel like working out, I get my motivation from the joy I know I will feel after I finish a class. I always feel so healthy, strong and happy after class.

Q: What is one thing you love about RYB?

A: One thing I love about RYB is how genuinely kind and welcoming everyone is. I also love the book club events!

Jess Martel

Barre Instructor

Q: What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend or a day off?

A: My favorite thing to do on the weekends is hanging with my husband and our twin girls (Abby & Bella)! We love the park, going to lunch, or taking a walk together! I also love to read and snuggle with our cats (Brady and Giselle).

Q: What is your favorite Barre move?

A: Squats!

Q: What motivates you on days you don’t feel like working out?

A: Sometimes when I'm not feeling 100% I decide to go and really listen to my body. I tell myself I can always drop my weights, lift from a posture or modify if needed. Most of the time, walking through the door is the hardest part and once I'm in it I find myself working hard and pushing myself! I feel better after a little moment and even a modified class feels better than no class at all!

Q: What is one thing you love about RYB?

A: The community! I moved to Franklin less than a year ago and already feel so welcomed by this community. Everyone is so genuine and kind. I love connecting with both members and instructors.
